Vapor Recovery Services Market Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2019 - 2027
Vapor Recovery Services Market
A vapour recovery unit is a
configuration made to get rid of unwelcome vapours in a distillate tank or
crude oil that enables operators to follow current emission requirements. In
the oil and gas business, VRU is mostly employed in upstream and downstream
processes. In addition, it is employed in refineries, chemicals, and oil and
gas. Additionally, vapours that are directly released into the environment are
recovered using vapour recovery units. VRUs
are mechanically propelled by either a gas or electric engine. The Ideal Gas
Law underlies the operation of VRU. The gas compressor, switching mechanism,
variable frequency drives, and scrubber are the vapour recovery unit's four
main parts (VFDs).
Growing number of oil storage
tanks worldwide is expected to drive the global
vapor recovery services market growth during the forecast period. Multiple
government and non-government organisations are very concerned about the VOCs
that are released during transportation operations from numerous oil and gas
storage facilities. Regulating bodies have put severe regulations on these
emissions in place to reduce these dangerous pollutants. These regulations have
forced oil and gas industry participants to adopt VRU systems.
To address VOC emissions from
storage tanks used for the oil and natural gas industry, the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) amended its 2012 performance criteria for that sector
in August 2013. With these changes, tank owners and operators will have time to
buy and install VOC while ensuring that the highest emissions from the tank are
addressed first.
